We’ve invited several experienced pilots to fly the Mosquito XET and tell us what they think.
Jerry Towler flew Hueys in Vietnam in 1965-1966 with the First Air Cav. He was awarded a DFC for combat flying during the Ia Drang Valley and LZ Xray (as seen in “We Were Soldiers Once...” He has logged over 20,000 hours in helicopters. “I love this little bird,” he said when he landed.
Robert Mason is the author of Chickenhawk, the New York Times best-selling memoir about being a combat helicopter pilot in Vietnam (with Jerry, above). “The Mosquito is quick but not skittish, stable in a hover, even in the wind. This little heli flies great. Truly an example of mechanical ingenuity and superb construction.”
