Mosquito AIR, the original ultralight helicopter designed by John Uptigrove. This one, White Lightning, is owned and built by Paul Greishabe.

The Harley-Copter, a Mosquito Air modified with skids. Designed and built by Andy Redman.

The Mosquito AIR weighs 254 pounds empty, within the legal limit for an ultralight helicopter designation in the USA. (So does the XEL, at 314 lbs (254 + 60 lbs amphibian allowance). As such, no pilot certificate is required to fly the AIR or the XEL in the US. One must know how to fly a helicopter before attempting to fly a single-place Mosquito.

To encourage safety, we offer a $2000 discount off the price of a kit or factory finished aircraft with proof of adequate training to solo a conventional helicopter. (Pilot, rotorcraft certificate, or Student License signed off for solo in log book.)
